Fly FM receives 10 student radio award nominations

Fly FM have been shortlisted for an outstanding 10 Student Radio Awards (SRAs) in recognition of another successful year of hard work and innovation, beating their previous record of 9 nominations set in 2013.

Fly FM is the official studio radio station of Nottingham Trent Students’ Union, operating from the studio at the heart of our city SU building. Fly broadcasts across all three NTU campuses a wide variety of student produced and presented shows, including news and sport, chart music, special interest, and talk shows; providing members valuable experience in award-winning broadcasting and media production.

Fly FM are nominated for the following awards:

  • Best student radio station
  • Best station branding
  • Best studio radio chart show
  • Best live event or outside broadcast, for Varsity Series
  • Best journalistic programming, for Trent Talk
  • Best sport programming, for Fly FM Sport
  • Best specialist music programming, for Jen Thomas,
  • Best newcomer, for Scarlet Chappell
  • Best female, for Jen Thomas and Helen Everett

The Student Radio Awards, run by the Student Radio Association with the support of BBC Radio 1 and Global, are an annual celebration of the diversity of content and talent in student radio and to highlight the next generation of radio talent. The Student Radio Awards take place in London on November 10th, and we wish Fly FM all the best!
