This year’s NTSU Awards ceremony was held at The Level in the new Students’ Union Building on Wednesday 7th May, to celebrate the outstanding contributions of students to SU activities over the last year. Nominees were put forward by you, the students of NTU, before being shortlisted and selected by the Executive Officer team.
This year’s winner of the main accolade, the Ian King Volunteer of the Year award, was James Green (pictured with NTSU President Jo Southwell-Sander), who was nominated for the School Representative of the Year award. This award was presented for the first time last year, to honour Ian King’s contribution to the student movement, our union and our students.
James was chosen as the winner of this award for his hard work and dedication to ensuring the best teaching service is provided for NTU students. Over the course of this academic year he has been very active in liaising with fellow students in his role as a School Rep to identify their learning needs and communicate these to key stakeholders in education provision. He has also been actively involved in a variety of meetings, focus groups, lectures and conferences to ensure that the most innovative methods of assessment, information delivery, teaching and learning are provided for all students at NTU. Congratulations James, and thank you for all your hard work which will benefit both current and future students studying at the university.
