► NTSU Poll

Do Clifton students deserve a new car park?

Poll Results...

► Clifton

“Nottingham Trent is definitely a student’s university. Clifton campus has a very friendly feeling and there is always a face that you recognise walking round. I have not yet come across a student who isn’t proud of studying at NTU.” Michael Brown, BA (Hons) Italian and TESOL

Located in the southern reaches of the city, the Clifton campus is self-contained and has recently undergone major refurbishment. The 720 residential rooms have en-suite facilities, including broadband internet. The student village has it’s own bar/music venue, refectory, supermarket, bank, cashpoints, and a Blackwell’s bookshop.

Sports and Recreation

‘The Point’ is the hub of Clifton campus life - a multi functional venue, encompassing a bar, diner and club! It also contains a coffee bar serving fresh Costa coffee, tea, hot chocolate and tasty treats such as cakes, muffins and panini sandwiches.

The enetertainments nights are really popular but if you’re looking for a change, the nightlife in the city centre is not far away. A dedicated bus service from the campus runs into town every 15 minutes and sharing a taxi home with friends won't put a big dent in your wallet.

Above The Point bar is the area where NTSU runs the many services it offers such as Stride, RaG, Initi8, Societies and the Jobshop, so climb the stairs at the back of the bar to get involved in any of these.

As Clifton is the home of the University’s sports courses, there are naturally plenty of recreational facilities available to all students:

  • excellent sports hall
  • all-weather floodlit sports pitch
  • cricket pitch
  • modern, fully-equipped gym facilities.

Excellent transport links

Whilst transport links between Clifton and the City are very good indeed, please be aware that the journey time can be 30-45 minutes or more during peak times when the traffic is particularly heavy. Please allow plenty of time to travel between sites for lectures.

Student Union Express

NTSU runs a shop on campus to provide you with almost everything you are likely to need from food and drink, alcohol and cigarettes to food, clothing, mobile top-ups, stationary, newspaper and magazines. Handily situated in the centre of campus, opposite The Point and open until 8pm, if you spend any time at Clifton campus, you will get to know it well.

Clifton Reception

NTSU Reception is located next to the shop and opposite the entrance to The Point. Firstly, we are here to provide information, help, suggestions, directions, phone numbers, copies of the Constitution, faxing, duplicating and much more to students and visitors. Our second role is that of staff support. The atmosphere is friendly and we will do our very best to answer any queries you may have, and will always, at the very least, point you in the right direction! For an idea of the services that the Students Union can offer, as well as information on many local events that may be of interest, feel free to pop in.
