There is a simple, yet effective, structure in place for the governance and representation of Societies at NTSU. By level of authority from top to bottom, here is how it works:
Societies Assembly is the highest governing body of societies. It consists of a representative from every society, the VP Societies, and the Societies Management Committee. Any student may attend and vote at the meetings of the Assembly.
During meetings, motions for the Code of Practice (the governing document of all societies) are discussed. The Assembly also acts as a forum for sharing of support and best practice between societies. The Assembly regularly hears applications of new societies, and votes on whether they should be affiliated.
The Assembly convenes five times per year. Upcoming meeting dates for the 2011/12 academic year will be posted here soon.
