► Sports Tour
The NTU Sports Tour is an event not to miss. Whether you are part of a competitive sports team or a recreational one, everybody is welcome to take part. Each year, over 350 sporting individuals from NTU travel with a select sports tour operator to a foreign country to participate in sports tournaments with 3000+ other students from British universities.
There are tournaments for every sport, and most of the tour operators are very keen to provide any sports that they currently do not cater for. Last year, NTU travelled to Salou in Spain with Tour Operator 'I Love Tour'. NTU's successes in 2010 were:
Beach Cricket - Winners
Men's Rugby Union XV's - Winners
Cheerleading - Winners
Men's Rugby Union VII's - Winners
Men's Football 1 - Winners
Women's Rugby Union XV's - Runners up
Women's Hockey - Runners up
Men's Rugby League - Winners
NTU also won overall 'University of the Tour', winning the Saloufest SuperTeam Award.
Other clubs that attended from NTU were: Boxing, Dance, American Football, Pole Dancing, Women's Football, Netball, Basketball and Rowing.
As well as the competition aspect, the socialising on tour is second to none! Not only will you increase your friendships among other NTU sports clubs, Sports Tour also gives you the opportunity to socialise with other university sports teams. And, of course, the NTU sports tour also gives clubs the opportunity to show their imagination on the many different types of fancy dress that make an appearance throughout the week!
