NTSU's last UGM took place on Tuesday 24th January, 5.30pm start at The Basement Bar, Clifton.

The UGM featured:

- Information and details on the upcoming Exec and NUS Delegate Elections.

- An update on current Big Ideas

- A vote on whether to implement the new Democratic Processes Document which includes changes to the Student Directorate and how Big Ideas are submitted. You can download the proposed document here.

Here is a summary of the voting results from your previous students' union UGM, held on 15th November 2011:

Student Directorate

Motions Passed

- The Exec will go from seven to six officers.
- Future Exec Officers will start handover from the 1st July.
- Societies can now opt in to offer free membership.
- Committee Members can receive free membership for one full year, provided it is written into the society’s constitution.
- Sports clubs are now required to have a minimum of 10 active members.

These motions will now be incorporated into NTSU policy.

 

Big Ideas

The following Big Ideas were passed:

NTSU Should... Lobby relevant parties to make the internet in UPP halls faster and more reliable.
NTSU Should... Provide a free cash machine in the City SU shop.
NTSU Should... Campaign for a greater provision of car parking spaces at Brackenhurst and Clifton Campus.
NTSU Should... Provide Brackenhurst sports clubs with funding.
NTSU Should... Lobby module leaders to make timetables available on NOW at an earlier date before the start and throughout the academic year.
NTSU Should... Bring back the £2.75 meal deal to The Point.
NTSU Should... Sell a more diverse range of products at the SU City Shop.
