Obviously, the Varsity Series is a great occasion both for players and fans, but it must not be forgotten that the main aim of the entire event is to raise awareness and vital funds for charity. Each year, a specific charity is chosen by both Universities, and all proceeds from the series will be donated to this worthy cause.
The Official Varsity Series Charity for 2011 is CP Sport, who work with people in Nottingham suffering from cerebral palsy. CP Sport helps individuals who want to play sport recreationally, all the way up to hopeful Paralympians for London 2012.
