Are you looking to develop your skills, meet new friends, have fun, and make your university experience unforgettable? Then look no further - this is your chance to get involved as an Initi8 Project Leader.
We provide you with the appropriate training and support to be part of the committee, and to deliver One Day Challenges in your local community. Have a little read below to see why you should be getting involved.
No experience necessary: The beauty of project leading is that you don't need any previous experience. After graduating, many graduates are left in a 'catch 22' situation; they can't get a job without experience, but they can't get experience without a job. Enter Initi8 Project Leading!
Free training provided: As a Project Leader, you will be provided with all the required training to deliver One Day Challenges. This includes a residential weekend away. You also have the option of taking the Institute of Leadership and Management Qualification (free for you, worth £700 to everyone else!), and you will also receive regular support from other Project Leaders and the Volunteer Coordinators.
Meet new friends: One thing Initi8 project leading is perfect for, is to meet new friends; at Freshers Week last year the project leaders didn't know a soul - one residential training weekend and a few meetings later, they were popping up on each other's Facebook newsfeeds like there was no tomorrow; organising socials, trips to Alton Towers, need I go on?
Development of skills: Project leading can help develop a variety of skills, such as leadership, time management, organisation, communication, confidence, decision making, budgeting, and social skills - all perfect for boasting on your CV!
Regular commitment: Project leading is perfect for those who want to use their spare time to boost their potential through extracurricular activities. To be a Project Leader, we require regular commitment to committee meetings throughout the term, and the delivery of One Day Challenges (between 2-5hours per week, plus planning time)
Boosts your career potential: It's difficult to ignore the ever-growing competitive job market; participating as a Project Leader really does put you a cut above the rest. Last year, a Project Leader secured a year's placement at IBM; another gained a very competitive year-long placement with Nottinghamshire Police.
Help the community: You will be delivering projects within your local community; as well as the feel-good factor, you really will be making a difference.
Win awards: Being a part of Initi8 opens doors and provides opportunities. Each year, the Volunteer Coordinators will put forward Project Leaders for various NTSU, regional, and national awards. Last year, Alice Hallows, a Clifton Project Leader, won the prestigious NTSU Volunteer of The Year Award.
It's FREE: Signing up is free, and getting involved is free. That's right, free training, free transport, and, when you take part in the One Day Challenges, free lunches too!
