Women’s
Despite more legislation protecting women’s rights, women are still faced with barriers when it comes to education. Women are under-represented in academia.
Here’s a few reasons why we still need the women’s campaigns;
- Statistically it will take women significantly longer to pay back their student debts than men (due to maternity leave and the pay gap)
- On average, women are paid 17% less than men in full time work and 38% in part time work
- 1 in 4 women experience domestic violence
- Two thirds of the off the world’s illiterate people are women
- 70 % of the world’s poor are women
