What is Club of the Week?

Each week the Students’ Union recognises the achievements of NTU’s sports clubs by awarding two Club of the Week awards – one for an on-pitch sport and one for off-pitch.

Both clubs win £50 to put towards their club as well as a featured space on the NTSU website.

This week’s winners:

On-pitch winner: SWIMMING & WATER POLO

What the club achieved:

This week the men’s water polo team won the league, beating Leicester 9-5 to secure the title! This is an amazing achievement and means they’ll be going up a league next season. The team started with a lot of new players this season as well as a new coach so there were lots of changes to be contended with but they worked really hard in training to find their rhythm in the pool again and it clearly paid off.

Off-pitch winner: THAI BOXING

What the club achieved:

For RAG Week, Thai Boxing allowed our club members to train in fancy dress for a small concession and have raised £70! They will also be taking part in other RAG week events, such as family fortunes & Trent Take Me Out. The money they have helped to raise will go towards supporting worthy charities in the community.
