Each week the Students’ Union recognises the achievements of NTU’s sports clubs by awarding two Club of the Week awards – one for an on-pitch sport and one for off-pitch.
Both clubs win £50 to put towards their club as well as a featured space on the NTSU website.
What the club achieved:
NTU Brazilan Jiu Jitsu dominated the first of two UKBJJA National competitions, defending their ranking as the number 1 University Brazilian Jiu Jitsu club in the UK. With 21 competitors on the day, the team topped the table with almost double the points of the club in 2nd place.
The club totalled 27 medals across the team making their success a group effort and putting them in a great position for the next event in March at the University of Nottingham.
What the club achieved:
As a club Netball have vowed to give back to a different charity each month and this month their chosen charity was the Operation Christmas Child shoebox appeal.
Together they managed to fill, wrap and donate over 25 boxes full of amazing gifts to underprivileged children across the world.
