What is Club of the Week?

Each week the Students’ Union recognises the achievements of NTU’s sports clubs by awarding two Club of the Week awards – one for an on-pitch sport and one for off-pitch.

Both clubs win £50 to put towards their club as well as a featured space on the NTSU website.

This week’s winners:

On-pitch winner: Handball

What the club achieved:

After failing to quality last season, Handball came away from the University Championships last weekend with a number of wins under their belt! The Men’s team won 3 out of 4 games and the women’s followed suit winning 2 and drawing 1. This puts both teams in a great position going into the second qualifying round.

Off-pitch winner: Pole Dancing

What the club achieved:

Pole hosted two successful skill swaps which give members from different clubs the opportunity to learn something new - one with Ice Hockey and a second with ITF Taekwondo which taught students about self-defence and keeping safe on nights out.
