What is Club of the Week?
Each week the Students’ Union recognises the achievements of NTU’s sports clubs by awarding two Club of the Week awards – one for an on-pitch sport and one for off-pitch.
Both clubs win £50 to put towards their club as well as a featured space on the NTSU website.
This week’s winners:
On-pitch winner: ROWING
What the club achieved:
The club’s women’s intermediate 8+ won their category at Boston Head on the 3k course – particularly impressive considering it was one of their newest member’s first race since joining at the start of the academic year.
They also had athletes racing for Nottingham who all performed well including an athlete in the winning 4- on the 5k course!
Off-pitch winner: CHEERLEADING
What the club achieved:
On Saturday, NTU Cheerleading held their annual showcase, 'Odyssey 3.0', at Clifton!
260 athletes from all 8 NTU teams performed as well as teams from Grantham, Huddersfield and Lincoln and they raised a total of £326.64 for Ducklings, a children's charity based at the QMC hospital.
A huge congratulations to cheer and everyone who was involved in organising such a successful showcase.
