NTSU is recruiting new Student Trustees

Wednesday 27-04-2022 - 17:01

Want to learn how to run a business by getting behind the scenes and helping to run one?

NTSU is recruiting new Student Trustees for the 2022-2024 academic years.

About the role

Student Trustees sit on NTSU's Trustee Board alongside the Senior Management Team, Exec Officers, and External Trustees.

The Trustee Board's purpose is to safeguard the vision and values of the Students' Union, establish the organisation's vision and strategic direction, and ensure that the Union meets the needs of its members.

As a trustee, you get to:

  • Help to run a multi-million-pound charity
  • Make a positive difference for all NTU students
  • Shape the future of NTSU
  • Receive high-quality training and personal development opportunities

Being a Student Trustee involves an average time commitment of 2-3 hours every two months to attend the Trustee Board meeting (five times per year, generally on Wednesday morning between 10am - Midday) and reading time to support those meetings.

You can find out more about our board, including the current membership and summaries of previous board meetings on our trustee board webpage

Why apply?

Being a Trustee is a unique personal and professional development opportunity that will make you stand out to recruiters. You will get experience in a professional environment, contribute to strategic decision-making at boardroom level, receive full training, make a positive difference for all NTU students, develop your skills, and become more employable. It is also a fantastic networking opportunity.

Sound good? You can apply for the role here.

Key Dates:

  • Applications open: Monday 25th April
  • Applications close: Monday 23rd May
  • Interviews: week commencing Monday 6th June
  • Trustee training: Monday 20th June (9am – 5pm).
  • NTSU Trustee board meeting: Tuesday 21st June (attending as an observer)

If you have any questions about the role, please email NTSU President and chair of the board, Conor Naughton – conor.naughton@su.ntu.ac.uk

Note: You must be an NTU student next year to qualify. We are looking for applicants who can serve a full two-year term as a Student Trustee. Therefore you will ideally be enrolled on an NTU course for the next two academic years. We will, however, consider applicants from all years of study.
