Tree planting

We are working with charity Trees for Cities to plant new woodlands all around Nottingham.

As a volunteer you will be going to Southglade Park and with a group of others, plant 3,000 trees across this park.

These trees will drastically improve the habitat of the park, but they will also improve air quality, capture carbon, prevent flooding, block winds, look beautiful and even provide fruit for local people to harvest.  In short, we’re going to make the Nottingham a slightly greener place on the 5th Feb, and we’d love to see you there.

NTU and the City Council parks team will be leading the planting, providing funding, tools and experts who can teach you to plant trees. We have to plant in winter to ensure the trees survive, so it’s likely to be cold and hard work. You’ll need warm clothes, packed lunch, probably a flask, and definitely a sense of humour.

Transport will be provided to and from the park. Please meet in the City SU, by the welcome desk at 10.30am. Return time TBC
