NTSU Communities

Do you have an idea for something you want to make happen at NTU?

Do you want to connect and empower other students? Then create an NTSU Community.

What is an NTSU Community?

NTSU communities are free-to-join accessible safe spaces where students can be brought together by a common experience, goal, background, identity, or hardship.

Rather than being based around big events, crazy socials, or regular meetings, communities are based around creating time and space where members can interact with one another.

There is no strict framework for running or joining a community. Instead they can be smaller commitments which encourage connections between people, in order to stir up important discussions and support.

Communities might be linked to a wider wealth of resources, or even to a pre-established NTSU network. This means they can be helpful if you are looking for support alongside friendship.

Communities can also be created as groups of students motivated by a communal goal. This could mean involvement with charity work or group challenges, for example.

Why should I join a Community?

Just like societies, communities provide an opportunity to meet new people, make friends and get yourself involved at university. However, unlike societies, communities are free to join and don’t entail as many long-term commitments.

Instead, they are great spaces for starting important discussions, setting up valuable links, and providing communal support and advice. All this alongside aiming to achieve a common goal with a group of people who can support one another.
