Student champion of mental health

Are you passionate about helping others? Apply to be a Student Mental Health Champion at NTU! 

What is a Student Mental Health Champion?

Our Mental Health Champions help to promote what support is available to students at Nottingham Trent University. 

 

The Student Mental Champion project is a collaboration with both NTSU and NTU Student Support Services.

Through campaigns and events, champions work alongside our VP Community and Welfare and our Information and Advice Service as well as the Student Health and Wellbeing Project Officer and the Student Support Services to ensure students are aware of the support that is available.

 

As one of our champions, you’ll be expected to:

  • Attend at least one advice and information sessions per year
  • Help out at events throughout the year such as World Mental Health Day, Wellbeing Week, Time to Talk Day and lots more.
  • Help with promotion of key information and activities
  • Take part in social media takeovers and writing for the Healthy NTU blog

 

Why should I apply?

We’ll provide you with nationally recognised training opportunities including Look After Your Mates and Suicide Training.

You’ll receive a Mental Health Champion lanyard, t-shirt and recognition award for your involvement plus you’ll come away with skills and experience that will look great on your CV.
