Looking for a rewarding opportunity that offers you the chance to work with young people in local schools and colleges?

Want to improve your employability skills, get paid and feel a part of the local community?

NTU Students in Classrooms can offer you just that with three different schemes available and approximately 350 places to recruit for. The feedback we get from previous participants is consistent year on year – 99% of students would recommend the schemes to their peers. However, there’s no need to take just our word for it – our students speak for themselves:

"Mentoring for me has been an amazing experience, as I've learned to character build and build relationships from scratch.

Of course, when you first meet your mentee you don't know them from Adam, but this scheme taught me how to maintain relationships and help bring out the best in others.

Looking at my mentee's before the scheme and after is amazing to see; the personal development, the growth, the confidence, and the well-rounded positive energy they now have for education.

I am a firm believer that time with people is never time wasted - being a mentor for me is more than just being a professional friend, it's about instilling growth and ambition that a mentee can carry into their foreseeable future, and for me, that is life changing."

  • Students in Classrooms Associates

Providing support in primary or secondary school classrooms in specific subject areas to raise aspirations to HE and improve attainment.

  • Student Ambassador Scheme

Supporting an array of activities, primarily with pupils from Years 5 to 13, to raise awareness of HE and the opportunities it can offer.

To apply, you must attend one of the awareness raising meetings running between Wednesday 7th and Friday 16th October. Further information about the schemes and dates of the meetings can be found on the Students in Classrooms website.
