Although there are obvious peak times for our gyms, there are some periods of the day where the capacity is low and people can get to the machines and won't have to wait.
The suggestion of gym capacity tracker comes from the likes of 'The Gym Group', who track capacity by customer sign-ins (in our case, could do it through the card swipe system) and shows people how busy the gym is when they are looking. It also shows past trends of busyness (e.g. - 3pm on Tuesday - 'queues unlikely, lots of space to train' or 6pm Monday - 'queues likely, busier in the gym').
This could help students understand when the best time is for them to go to the gym, especially from recent comments and grievances around 'lack of adequate space to train'. This may also help to 'get their money's worth' and not have to look for more expensive gyms elsewhere. The link for the capacity tracker from the Gym Group: How Busy Is My Gym? | The Gym Group
