NTSU will discuss the organiastion of the books but students should speak to the library staff in the meantime.
The current library system works well, but could it be improved?
A detailed map on your screen, when you've selected a book online, which shows you directly which floor and where abouts the correct bookshelve is. It could save students a lot of time, rather than searching through the bookshelves trying to find the 3 letter code word.
Also a future approach could be a click&collect system, where students can reserve the book they want to borrow and collect it from the library at a collection desk. Rather than spending a while trying to find the book, to then discover it's not the one you were after.
I don't like the idea that we would shift the physical walking around the library from ourselves to the library staff. However, a digital representation of the filing system so it is easier to locate specific texts would be most helpful. Similar systems already exist in shopping centres for instance to guide shoppers to particular retail outlets.
