OSCOLA is a complex referencing system used by NLS. This is taught by way of providing students with information on OSCOLA on the NOW and by introducing them to the library resources. However, this should also be taught by way of lectures at the start of each year, to refresh the minds of students when applying OSCOLA during their courseworks and exams. Moreover, tutors and lecturers should all be applying OSCOLA in the same way, as often lecture notes supplied to students do not comply with the OSCOLA guidance on the NOW. Feedback on exams and coursework regarding OSCOLA should also be less ambigious, and more guidance on how to better student's OSCOLA referencing should be provided within the feedback.
