This idea was rejected by Student Council due to the lack of available storage space in City SU, particularly during club nights or large events.
I enjoy watching football on the weekends, and this Saturday visited the city SU to watch Arsenal vs Leicester, the atmosphere was very poor and not many people attended.
Firstly, I’m not sure how many people know that they can watch the football in the SU, as I didn’t know until last week.
Secondly, the way the chairs were angled made it difficult to see the screens, unless we changed them ourselves.
Thirdly, I think a pool table may attract students that are not that interested in the actual sports but would let them enjoy the social aspect of the SU.
you can make it a free table if they put they change their student card for the pool cues, or charge a pound a go and put the money to charity.
yeah I agree, it would bring good business to the SU also because when people play pool they are more likely to buy refreshments to go along with the game. The Cifton Pool tables in their SU are in use constantly, and provide a greta atmosphere, just a bit of a shame that the City campus doesn't have one either.
I feel as though this needs to be readdressed and voting brought back, I think business in the su would benefit from the pool tables :)
I think due to covid I get the feeling a chill evening with pool (with maybe 2 for 1 cocktails) and open mic nights/ Karoke would benefit so many people including myself
