As much as interesting settling into Nottingham Trent University would have been, the challenge of accommodation faced by many married students right from their day one is so overwhelming and this "waters down' all enthusiasm and excitement about coming to NTU. I must clearly also state that the accomdoation issue is not peculiar to students with married status alone.

NTU with many of the awards won consistently in recent years, should go a step further in providing family accommodation for its International students especially. Most, if not all International students faces this challenge and this is a wrong way to start the academic activities. 

My expectations in terms of providing supports to International Students were dashed as this is far from the truth we read whilst taking the decision to study here.

My suggestion to the team is this:

First, begin to look at opportunity to build furnished family accommodation for International Students. This can be another source of income for the school. having a palce to settle in first in a new place has a lot of pyschological impact on the students and postiively impacts academic performance. This again would increase overall efficiency of delivery of the modules by the course leaders who willl be talking to a more excited and listening student.

Secondly, the school management may need to consider the option of signing off agreement or partnership with letting agents or home owners-direct Landlord for provision of family apartment for its students. This should have a specific time that the portal opens and be treated on first hand basis. Realistically, the school may not be able to solve all the accomodation issues, but a significant number of student who may be lucky to have won the ballot would be settled and this increases overall satisfaction.

Remember a satisfied customer would always return back and at his return bring addtional customers who would in turn bring another and the chain continues as long as they are all satisfied and remained happy.
