The NTSU Student Council has voted unanimously to APPROVE this Big Idea and stressed that from the logistic perspective, it would be necessary to have a discussion between NTSU officers and/or staff and relevant NTU staff. Please note that the President would be the Executive Officer to follow-up on this Big Idea.

'New Hall Block' (NHB) on Clifton Campus has been so called for years, maybe decades. This wouldn't be an issue but for the more recent, prominent, and wellknown 'New Hall' Accommodation Block, also on Clifton Campus.

Many lecturers have their office hours in NHB, and lectures & other teaching sessions occur here. But to many people, especially new students and likely visitors, 'New Hall' means the accommodation block at the entrance to campus. This causes a great deal of needless confusion that could be easily avoided.

I have worked as a Student Ambassador for over a year and was Course Rep last year, and I have had to explain to many people where they can find their classes. It doesn't help that NHB is quite poorly signposted on campus - you really need to know where you're going already in order to find a sign for it, as even walking past it offers few clues.

Especially with new buildings being added to campus in recent years (Engineering, IHAP, etc.), maps will already likely need updating, so changing the name to something clearer would have very little detrimental effect, especially if the change is made clear well in advance.

Overall, I see few shortcomings to a pretty easy fix such as this.
