Visitor Parking Permits

All cars require a permit to park at Brackenhurst campus. Whilst a new car park has been recently built, the contractor traffic and greater student numbers has only increased the strain on the already difficult parking situation. Your Brackenhurst Officer, April Bond, is raising and will continue to raise this issue in discussion with campus authorities.
Parking spaces for students at Brackenhurst are already hard to come by. On most days, finding a spot can take upwards of 15 minutes, and students frequently have to park up at the animal unit. This often results in students being late to morning lectures. Despite the lack of parking, many spots are taken by cars without parking permits, contractor vehicles, and members of the public visiting the grounds.
I suggest that visitors should display a visitor parking permit when using student/staff parking during weekdays. A visitor permit could be collected from reception upon arrival. This would free up more space for students living off campus to park and would reduce the number of those arriving late to lectures due to parking issues.
