NTSU recognised as the 6th best Students' Union in the UK
NTSU has been recognised as the sixth-best Students' Union in the UK at the WhatUni Student Choice Awards (WUSCA), making us one of the best SUs in the country.
A huge thank you to all of our members who voted for NTSU in the WUSCAs this year. The awards are based on student feedback on the SUs and Universities over the past year and are the UK's biggest student-voted awards.
Our sixth-placed ranking comes after an incredible year for NTSU. Our events, opportunities, representation and information and advice service have all reached new heights in terms of quality and provision to NTU students.
NTSU President, Conor Naughton, said, "To see NTSU once more given national acclaim as one of the best Students' Unions in the UK is simply brilliant. As a Union representing 40,000 students, we have gone from strength to strength in 2021/2022. We've built on our outstanding work during the pandemic to empower our members and give them the best on-campus, in-person experience.
Attending the ceremony and celebrating our achievement on the night was even more special after two years of tireless work. Thank you to our amazing staff and students."
NTSU VP Opportunities, Cameron Sutton, said, "It is an honour to be part of an organisation that values its members so highly and provides them with the platform to achieve and excel in their voluntary roles. For our students to have recognised this is fantastic for both NTU and NTSU.
This would not be possible without the exceptional work of our student leaders and the record number of students involved in societies this year. I believe that NTSU will continue to build on these accomplishments and provide exceptional service for students.
NTSU CEO, Phil Kynaston, added, "I'm delighted to see this recognition, which reflects the hard work and dedication of so many of our staff, officers, and members. Thank you to everyone involved at NTSU this year and to our fantastic students for their positive feedback and kind words."
Elsewhere on the night, NTU won the award for Best UK university for Student Life. This was based on students' sense of community, the diversity and extent of socialising, the extracurricular activities available, and how the University promotes good mental health.
NTSU's work and the student life experience at NTU are strongly intertwined, so we are honoured to share recognition for this award with NTU.
NTU was also named runner-up in the coveted University of the Year category. Making NTU the second best University in the UK as voted for by students.
