About the role

You’ll support the Bars & Venues Manager in the day-to-day running of NTSU’s licensed venues, ensuring exceptional customer experiences, consistent operational standards and compliance with licensing, health & safety and food safety requirements.

Working hands-on across service, staff leadership and event delivery, you’ll help drive sales and gross profit, optimise rotas and stock, and maintain a welcoming, safe and inclusive environment for students, staff and guests.

What you’ll be doing

Your week will be a mix of operational leadership, people management and event delivery.

  • Lead shifts across all NTSU bars and venues, acting as duty manager when required.
  • Support recruitment, training and coaching of our student staff team.
  • Oversee safe service of alcohol and ensure adherence to licensing, H&S and food hygiene regulations.
  • Work with colleagues to plan and deliver club nights, live events and private bookings.
  • Monitor sales, GP and wastage, contributing ideas to hit and exceed commercial targets.
  • Champion an inclusive, welcoming atmosphere where every student feels they belong.
