Description

Anti-slavery support group in the form of a student body.

Welcome to Nottingham Trent University Hope For Justice Society.

Description of society

We are proud to support the 'Hope For Justice' charity as a student body. We are a group of students building on this NTU society by taking a stand to raise awareness regarding the issues of modern-day slavery.

Aims and Objectives

We proivde a variety of basic information regarding modern slavery, from statistics, training, printed and electronic resources, speaking engagements and conferences with the aim to raise awareness and educate people that slavery still exists today, including in the UK. We believe freedom is worth the fight. We believe justice is non-negotiable. We refuse to abandon the least, the last and the lost. We challenge apathy with action. We choose to greet cynicism with hope. We are purposeful, passionate and pioneering.

What you can expect to get involved in

We have a range of society socials planned for the year, packed with networking opportunities through events, training and workshops. We will also be welcoming guest speakers at our end of year celebation conference to share more insight around positive stories and how we are making a difference in our community and globally. These activities will help you understand the importance of duty of care in each of your chosen industries, wether you plan on becoming a teacher, lawyer, doctor, architect or entrepreneur.

How to get involved

Everyone and anyone who has a passion for hope, justice, doing the right thing and making a difference by helping people is welcome to join. Regardless, of their experience and knwoledge based on the subject, and will play a vital part in the success in our vision, whether it's being a fundraiser, speaker or just someone who is full of positive and life changing ideas. You can join by completing the membership application through the 'join society', there is a small fee of £3 but every penny is reinvested into the society to continue to organise events for our members and for the university. Once you have completed this, we will be in touch to welcome you to our events.
