What is a Students' Union

A Student Union is a student-led organisation whose main purpose is to represent the best interests of all students on the issues they may face. A Student Union is independent of the University and many (including us) are affiliated with the National Union of Students (NUS).

Student Unions are mostly led by elected students, who are typically current or recently graduated students from the University they represent. Many Student Unions are largely financially supported by the university and most (including us) also raise money by running commercial services such as bars, cafes, and shops.
