At NTSU, everything we do starts with students.

Whether you've voted in our elections, joined a society, attended an event, become a Course Rep, used one of our services or simply found your place at NTU, you've helped shape another incredible year for our Students' Union.

Our 2026 Impact Report is now live, celebrating the difference we've made together over the last academic year. It's more than a collection of statistics – it's the story of students creating change, building communities and making NTU the best possible place to study.

Creating change together

This year, thousands of students made their voices heard.

Almost 6,000 students voted in our Trent Elections, helping shape the future direction of NTSU, while hundreds of Course Reps and School Officers worked alongside University staff to improve everything from teaching and assessment to the wider academic experience.

Students also continued to influence change through campaigns, Union Meetings and Make a Change, helping improve student life both now and for future students.

Student Voice in numbers

• 5,893 students voted in Trent Elections

• 871 Course Representatives supported students across every academic school

• 518 nominations celebrated outstanding NTU staff through our Student-Led Teaching Awards

• 396 students attended Union Meetings to help shape NTSU's future

Finding your people

University is about so much more than lectures.

It's about finding your community, trying something new, making lifelong friends and creating memories that last well beyond graduation.

Throughout the year, thousands of students got involved with societies, sports clubs, volunteering, campaigns and events, creating welcoming communities across City, Clifton and Brackenhurst.

From Freshers and Varsity to Pride celebrations, cultural events and student-led activities, this year was full of opportunities to connect.

Community highlights

• 7,536 students joined a society

• More than 300 events brought students together throughout the year

• Hundreds of thousands of visits were made across our venues and events, creating unforgettable student experiences

Supporting students when it matters most

Behind every statistic is a student with their own story.

Whether it was academic advice, housing issues, wellbeing support or guidance through challenging situations, our teams were there to help students navigate university life with confidence.

Alongside this, thousands of first-year students took part in our Consent is Everything workshops, helping create a safer, more informed and more supportive university community.

Support by the numbers

• More than 9,000 advice interactions supported students throughout the year

• 6,281 first-year students attended Consent is Everything workshops

• 96% of attendees said they felt more confident responding to a disclosure after taking part

Looking to the future

2025-26 wasn't just about reflecting on another successful year. It was also about listening.

Hundreds of students helped shape our brand new NTSU Strategy through surveys, workshops and conversations, ensuring the future direction of your Students' Union reflects what matters most to students today.

Alongside this, we continued our commitment to sustainability, equality, inclusion and creating opportunities that help every student feel heard, connected and supported throughout their time at NTU.

The story behind the numbers

The Impact Report brings together student stories, achievements and real examples of the difference students make every single day.

From students finding their confidence through representation, to societies creating lifelong friendships, campaigns improving the student experience and volunteers making our community more welcoming, it's a celebration of what happens when students come together.

Whether you've been involved from day one or have only recently discovered NTSU, you've played a part in this year's story.

Thank you for making NTSU what it is. We can't wait to see what we'll achieve together next.
