CEES position as of 1st January 2025

Friday 20-12-2024 - 21:19

Hello CEES Community,

We hope you're all doing well. We're excited to invite you to our upcoming Christmas events! You can find the full schedule on the NTSU website – explore and join us! We're also adding more events, so keep an eye out.

Starting January 1st, 2025, we're evolving! The CEES Society & Community is becoming "CEES at Nottingham Trent University." This transformation focuses on empowering our growing community by making it 100% student led.

Moving forward, all event planning will involve active participation from students and members alongside the Society Reps (Joe, Dempsey, & Sky). The Reps will continue to handle funding applications, risk assessments, and event promotion.

We're eager to see you at our events!

Important Information Regarding Support Services

Starting January 1st, 2025, the role of the Society Reps (Joe, Dempsey, & Sky) will shift. They will no longer be providing direct support in areas such as:

  • Financial assistance
  • Wellbeing and mental health support
  • Accommodation support
  • Conflicts
  • University Course Work and Extenstions

These services are now available through Nottingham Trent University (NTU) and the Nottingham Trent Students' Union (NTSU). We understand that members or Care Experienced or Estranged Students have a wrong idea of our community. We are proactively increasing the awareness of the struggles and concerns as a student at university but please be assured that we can talk about these things, but the Reps can't do anything to it. We can signpost you and support you to the right people.

For any support needs, please refer to the CEES at NTU website for comprehensive information and available resources.

Conflict Resolution:

The handling of conflicts will also change. All conflicts will be automatically referred to the relevant departments within NTU or NTSU for resolution.

We encourage all students to utilize the support services provided by the University and the Students' Union.

We understand that this may occur to frustrate students or affect the current changes. The Reps are not trained or qualified to deal with the situations listed above and they do support over 600+ CEES Students studying at NTU.

Thank you
