Model United Nations

Model United Nations (MUN) is a conference-style event where participants simulate the United Nations. Delegates are assigned countries and expected to fulfil the roles of diplomats whilst solving problems at the international level. We follow the London International Model United Nations (LIMUN) procedure, which ensures debates are structured, inclusive, and reflective of real-world diplomatic practices.

This is an incredible opportunity to:

  • Develop global awareness and critical thinking.
  • Network with students across disciplines.
  • Gain exposure to high-stakes, fast-paced environments.
  • Practise public speaking, negotiation, and resolution drafting.

Example topics you might debate include:

  • UN Security Council: Intervention in humanitarian crises.
  • UN Human Rights Council: Protecting freedom of expression in the digital age.
  • World Health Organization: Coordinating international responses to global pandemics.
  • General Assembly: Addressing the challenges of climate-induced migration.

Roles are equally exciting: you might represent France negotiating sanctions, Kenya advocating for development aid, or even a non-state actor presenting their perspective. Each delegate is expected to argue from their assigned country’s standpoint, balancing national interest with international cooperation.

And don’t worry if you’re a beginner—full training in LIMUN procedure will be provided!
