What is Club of the Week?

Each week the Students’ Union recognises the achievements of NTU’s sports clubs by awarding two Club of the Week awards – one for an on-pitch sport and one for off-pitch.

Both clubs win £50 to put towards their club as well as a featured space on the NTSU website.

This week’s winners:

On-pitch winner: TRENT DANCE

What the club achieved:

Last night Trent Dance hosted their Annual dance show, Elevate, and the event was a huge success!

More than 100 members from the club performed routines that ranged from ballet to hip hop giving beginners, intermediate and advanced dancers alike the opportunity to show off their talent.

The club also donated some of the money raised to BacZac, a charity set up in memory of a Trent student, which raises money to support young people with cancer.

Off-pitch winner: MEN’S RUGBY UNION

What the club achieved:

The club’s Movember campaign came to an end this week and raised a massive £1,200 for men’s physical and mental health charities.

Members of Men’s Rugby Union also shaved their heads, raising more than £100 for John Van Geest Cancer Research.

Special thanks to Will Sutton and John Rich who went above and beyond to fundraise for such great causes.
