What is Club of the Week?

Each week the Students’ Union recognises the achievements of NTU’s sports clubs by awarding two Club of the Week awards – one for an on-pitch sport and one for off-pitch.

Both clubs win £50 to put towards their club as well as a featured space on the NTSU website.

This week’s winners:

On-pitch winner: DANCE

What the club achieved:

The club held their annual competition which saw 10 university teams and over 350 dancers compete. A range of styles, from ballet to hip-hop, were performed at both intermediate and advanced levels and a wildcard category finished of the event.
Trent dance came away with 10 trophies including best choreography and best team spirit!

Off-pitch winner: KARATE

What the club achieved:

On Saturday, NTU Karate hosted its third annual charity karate competition with competitors taking part from universities across the country. The event helps to prepare the club’s seasoned competitors for the upcoming larger competitions whilst also acting as a stepping stone to those who have never competed before, helping to increase engagement with the sport and, on this occasion, raising £175 for the East Midlands Immediate Care Scheme in the process!
