Every year the Students’ Union runs a programme of Raising and Giving (RAG) events which raise vital funds for charities across the world and this year, we’re partnering with a number of both local and global charities to give Trent students the chance to make a difference to those in need.

NTSU’s chosen RAG charities for 2019/20 are:

Dig Deep

Dig Deep helps schools and communities in Kenya to secure access to water and sanitation. They work together to build taps and toilets to ensure that water and sanitation services are maintained for the long term and to provide vital hygiene training to the next generation.

Redthread

Redthread is a youth work charity which has strived to offer young people vital support though innovative health and education programmes for the last 20 years. They run a Youth Violence Intervention Programme at the QMC in Nottingham to reduce youth violence in the city.

The Wolfpack Project

The Wolfpack Project is a new, ambitious Nottingham-based charity which aims to reduce loneliness and social isolation amongst younger people and adults. They plan to develop a ‘’Wolfpack’’ group in Nottingham - and thereafter across the UK - where members can socialise with a wide-range of people who are also looking to grow their friendship and support networks.

We’ll be hosting a number of fundraising events throughout 2019/20 here at the Students’ Union to help support these causes including Jailbreak and the Three Peaks Challenge. Head to www.trentstudents.org/RAG to find out more about how you can get involved.
