Student votes drive change at NTSU

Friday 24-11-2017 - 13:04

Students have overwhelmingly voted to make some major changes to our Exec Team! At last night’s Union Meeting students voted to introduce a brand new full time Executive Officer – Vice President Postgraduate. We’re so excited about creating this officer role. They will be representing our ever-growing number of postgraduate students, as well as leading on employability initiatives here at NTSU.  NTU students will have the opportunity to elect this officer in our main elections next term, so keep an eye out!

Students also voted to remove the role of VP Services and our City and Clifton Liaison Officers from the exec team. Despite these roles being dissolved, we are still absolutely committed to bringing you the best services we can across all of our campuses. All exec officers will feed into our Ents programme and retail outlets, making sure that the opinions of our diverse membership are represented.

NTSU President, Martha Longdon, said: “It’s so rewarding to see all our hard work pay off. We truly believe that these changes will help NTSU to best represent students at Trent and we couldn’t be happier that our members agree with us. ”

Both the staff and officer team have worked extremely hard on these changes over the last few weeks so we’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone involved and to the students who came and voted on the night.

Elections for next year’s Exec officer team will begin in Term 2 – look out for all the information you need coming soon!
