Things to get involved with at your Students’ Union

Thursday 26-09-2019 - 13:28

Freshers’ Week may be almost over, but there is still so much to get involved in during your time at Trent. Here’s a look at what the Students’ Union has to offer.

Venues

No matter which campus you’re studying at, our venues are sure to be your home away from home. Featuring everything from a 30ft climbing wall to Wi-Fi enabled bars, diners, coffee shops and bookable spaces for student activities, they’re the perfect place to unwind and have fun with your friends.

Events and entertainment

Our events programme runs all year round and is one of the most diverse in the country, with quizzes, comedy clubs, clothing fairs and club nights running throughout each term. For more information, visit our Entertainments page or check out our full list of current events

Societies and opportunities

We have over 140 societies and communities you can join at NTSU, ranging from maths and languages to knitting and debate. Joining one is a great way to meet people, follow your passion or try something new. We also host one-off events and workshops throughout the year that are designed to help you develop skills for your CV.

Advice and support

There’s so much to look forward to during your university experience but we’re also here to support you if you need us. Whether you’re feeling homesick and looking for a hand settling in or you need advice and support on housing or mental health, our Information and Advice Service (IAS) have you covered.

Representation

Our representatives are in place to make sure your voice is heard. The Executive Officer Team (including myself) represent you on everything from your welfare to your studies. Your Course and School Reps represent your academic interests, and your Equality and Diversity Officers act as a voice for a range of student demographics. Get in touch with any of us to find out more or give us some feedback regarding your student experience.

Remember, we're a not-for-profit organisation, which means that any money we make in our venues and shops goes towards funding opportunities like these for you to get involved in during your time at Trent. For more information on everything we do, head to www.trentstudents.org
