Jack Barry
Jack Barry is an exciting name making waves in the comedy world and is probably the only stand up on the circuit with a degree in Chinese – what a waste. Jack will be appearing as a series regular in Mae Martin’s highly anticipated sitcom Feel Good (Channel 4/Netflix) following numerous TV appearances including The Russell Howard Hour (Sky One), Dad’s Army: The Lost Episodes (Gold), Catastrophe (Channel 4/Amazon), Cuckoo (BBC Three) and Turn Up Charlie (Netflix). Not to mention he also had a brief stint gracing screens and crisp packets nationwide as the face of McCoy’s crisps for most of 2017-2018. An excellent writer, he has written for Mock the Week (BBC2) and a sketch he wrote entitled Get Staffed went viral, becoming a Vimeo staff pick and appearing on the Canal+ TV show L’Oeil de Links in France. The sketch was shortlisted for Best Comedy Short at the Montreal Just for Laughs Festival and won Single Funniest Moment at the Portland Comedy Festival.
Jack has provided tour support for comedians including Russell Howard, Marc Maron, James Acaster and Joe Lycett. An Edinburgh Fringe regular, he first appeared at the Festival with critically-acclaimed student sketch group the Leeds Tealights, named Best Student Sketch Group in 2010. He performed his debut solo hour in 2015 and has since returned each year with critically-acclaimed sell-out shows. His 2017 and 2018 shows High Treason and Tango transferred to London’s Soho Theatre. He returned to the festival in 2019 with another sell-out show Alien, which was selected as one of eight comedy shows in the Sunday Times’ ‘Best of what’s on at the Edinburgh Festival’ and received exclusively 4-star reviews.
Along with being a solo act, Jack writes and performs as one-half of acclaimed sketch duo Twins alongside fellow former Leeds Tealight Annie McGrath.
Susan Riddell
After winning a place in BBC Writer’s Room Fast and Funny, Susan Riddell went on to write, create and star in several on-line comedy sketches for BBC Short Stuff which have garnered nearly 3 million views and counting. Susan recently performed stand up at the Edinburgh Fringe in both CKP’s Lunchtime Special and the BBC Presents Comedy Tent. She also wrote a humorous weekly column for The Daily Record newspaper for around two years. Other writing credits and acting roles include C4 and BBC’s Ones spoof cop show Scot Squad. She is currently working on a sitcom pilot with the BBC and is a regular on the topical BBC radio panel show Breaking the News.
