This film is a British historical comdey-drama inspired by an extradordinary true story. The film is set in 1984 when Margaret Thatcher is in power and the National Union of Minworkers go on strike. This prompted lesbian and gay activitis to rasied money to help families affected by the British miners' strike, the outset of what would become the Lesbian and Gay Support the Miners campaign.
