Girls Night In: Reclaim The Night March

Are you fed up with having to detour home to walk down lit streets, just in case? Or having to pretend to be on the phone, just in case?

Then come along and join Nottingham’s biggest and loudest annual grassroots protest against male violence against women, as we Reclaim the Night! Whether you came to our Banner Making workshop or not, we invite you to join us outside the City SU at 18:00 to walk down to Sneinton Market together as we prepare to Reclaim the Night.

Why do we march?

  • We march to demand an end to sexual assault, rape, and all forms of men’s violence and harassment against women and girls.

  • We march to demand an end to the victim-blaming of women who experience sexual assault, rape, violence and harassment

  • We march to reclaim our streets and take back our spaces and to say that we have a right to access them without any fear

  • A mass of women pounding the streets together sends a message to our leaders that citizens, residents and voters care about women’s safety.

  • Walking in solidarity and safety with your noisy sisters is good for your spirits. Regain your energy by sticking it to the patriarchy!

Why come along?

  • Get inspired by some amazing guest speakers

  • Make some noise along the drums of the march

  • Learn chants to remember for a life time

There's no need to book, but be sure to register via the link below to be kept up to date as there's a few more surprises up their sleeves.

* All women are welcome - we are a trans-inclusive march. We also welcome anyone who has experienced misogynistic oppression – we know that some non-binary and gender non-conforming people have faced similar forms of discrimination and may wish to march with us too. Accompanied children of all genders are welcome to the march.
