Halloween Pumpkins!

Join the Allotment Team and improve your pumpkin carving skills with some expert teachers & carving tools!

Pumpkins provided - but your skills required. We will be donating your work of art to Windmill Community Gardens for their annual Halloween gathering. There will be stencils, tools, pumpkin recipes and Tupperware for you to take the insides home to make some scrumptious food/health products. Be sure to book your space to reserve your very own pumpkin.

Fun fact:  The name "jack-o'-lantern" is British in origin and dates from the 17th century, when it literally meant "man with a lantern" (i.e., a night watchman). It was also a popular nickname for the natural phenomenon known as ignis fatuus (fool's fire), or "will o' the wisp," those mysterious, flickering blue lights sometimes seen over wetlands at night and associated in folklore with mischievous ghosts, goblins, fairies and the like.
