The first half of this workshop will explore what a hate crime is, how to recognise a hate crime, how to report it and the prevalence of hate crime in the UK and in a Higher Education context. The second half of this workshop will be exploring the lived experiences of students who have had a hate crime committed against them. We will also be exploring different prejudices with an opportunity for students to discuss their experiences with others, build peer support networks within NTU and explore how the SU can best support students who have experienced hate crime. There will be an opportunity to make a solidarity bracelet as well as other fun activities.
