Information and Advice Volunteers

The Information and Advice Service have a range of volunteering opportunities available, including basic advice giving, campaigning, workshop delivery and more.

Our service provides free independent and confidential advice, information and representation services to students at Nottingham Trent University and we want you to help us with peer to peer activities.

We are looking for dynamic students to provide information and advice to fellow students in line with SU campaigns and outreach work. 

Your duties will include the following;

  • Housing contract checking 
  • Engagement in campaigns such as the annual housing fayre
  • Proactive activities to ensure students are aware of academic procedures at NTU
  • You will also have the opportunity to run and manage your own events or campaigns that are in line with our service. (These would be funded by our service)  

What do you get in return?

  • Access to training on housing law, general advice giving. (further opportunities available depending on the level of engagement) 
  • Recording your volunteer hours, enabling you to achieve Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum HEAR award
  • The opportunity to use our service as a reference when applying for future jobs 
  • A chance to input into the running of the IAS ensuring we are up to date an relevant for our students
  • A chance to be nominated for an NTSU Volunteering Award in Summer 2018.
