He was the last king to die in battle on British soil and again the first since 1066 when Harold II reputedly took an arrow to the eye in Hastings.
At his death, he had a lot of body wounds which suggested that his helmet had fallen off in battle or, that he had worn his crown to battle. Nice idea in terms of style, but foolish when it comes to the ins and outs of the battlefield.
