Liverpool Trip: International Slavery Museum

Discover Liverpool.

In 2019, Liverpool was the fifth most visited city in the UK thanks to its culture, sport and architecture - not to mention it is the birthplace of iconic band, The Beatles.

The city was a major slaving port and its ships and merchants dominated the transatlantic slave trade in the second half of the 18th century. Liverpool's role in the transatlantic slave trade is remembered and recorded in the International Slavery Museum at the vibrant waterfront of the Royal Albert Dock. Explore the museum's dynamic and powerful collections including the Freedom Quilt, Racist Memorabilia and Modern Slavery.

Learn more on the museum's website.
