In this discussion, we will be exploring how people with intellectual, physical and sensory disabilities and those with mental illness are targeted, particularly within the student population and how this takes shape in a university setting and beyond. Hate crimes against people with disabilities are a serious and prevalent issue within our society today. We will be examining the narrative around disability and the ways in which we can try to reduce these types of hate crimes.
Afterwards, we will be holding a film/documentary screening on the topic.
