Tom 'The Blowfish' Hird is the world's only heavy metal biologist. He is a broadcaster, author and science communicator who has presented multiple TV documentaries.
In this talk, The Blowfish will discuss one of the biggest man-made threats facing our seas, and even our own survival. Plastic has become part and parcel of human life, but it's a newcomer to society, and we can live without it. In fact, the whole world is now dependent on our attempts to ditch this unhealthy addiction and put an end to the Plastic Tsunami.
Join Tom as we look into the causes and concerns facing us all from the not-so-fantastic plastic.
Tom is a Marine Biologist, broadcaster, author and science communicator. A regular face on British Television for the past few years, Tom has appeared as “The Blowfish” on CBBC, ITV, BBC, CITV and Channel 4 as Sunday Brunch’s resident wildlife expert.
Tom’s aim is to encourage conservation throughout the population by shaking up the established way of doing things. As “The Blowfish – The World’s ONLY Heavy Metal Marine Biologist” and sporting Mohawk, chains, guitar and beard, Tom has wowed audiences of all ages around the country with his Science Communication shows.
