Grizzled Skipper Project
"A locally rare butterfly, the grizzled skipper is found in small populations in the south and east of Nottinghamshire. Nationally, the grizzled skipper is one of our fastest declining butterfly species, both with regard to their distribution but also with regards to the density of their meta-populations. In South Nottinghamshire, we work on primarily privately owned sites to maintain and enhance the existing habitat (by cutting back scrub using hand tools and in some cases by creating artificial egg laying sites) to assist the conservation of this species."
