For this guest speaker event we'll have the pleasure of having Isil Altan to come and speak about Kurdish history. Isil is the current president of the NTU Kurdish Society. 

Kurdistan, the lands made up of Kurdish speaking people covers four countries: Syria, Iran, Iraq and Turkey. The talk will cover the struggle of Kurdish people against the Turkish government, and the ongoing civil war, and the mobilIsation of the PKK.

This will be a good chance to learn about a new culture, and an often excluded history, so make sure you don't miss it.
