Kindertransport Event

This year on 9th November is it the 75th anniversary of Kristallnacht, when Nazi troops attacked Jewish homes and businesses.

The Kindertransport was an exodus of mostly Jewish children who fled, without their parents, from Nazi occupied countries to Britain and other countries during the Second World War. In many cases, this saved their lives.

Ruth is a lady in her 80s who was one of these children. She survived the horrors of the Holocaust because of people in England who were prepared to take in and care for a Jewish girl from Germany.

During RED week, Ruth will be coming to speak about her experiences of the Kindertransport.

This talk has been organised by Amy Williams, a 3rd year History student who is doing her dissertation on the Kindertransport. It will be a really interesting talk, especially for anyone with an interest in WW2 and Nazi Germany.
